This quilt serves as a designer’s time capsule of sorts, as the selvedges name the years and designers of the fabrics used. I saved the selvedges from the fabrics I used for other quilts, and once I had enough I made this quilt.

This quilt features hundreds of Ruby Star Society selvedges (the edge of the fabric with the designer information included). Many of them include words, phrases, and fun details. So much love and delight was stitched into this quilt, as it includes many of my favorite fabrics, some of which are out of print.

The selvedges were sewn onto squares of fabric, then pieced together in a color flow design. Many of them were sewn with the edges on the outside of the quilt, to finish with a fluffy texture that will not fray.

The quilt was machine quilted in a grid, with a hidden custom motif of sawtooth stars within each block. Hand quilted details were added afterward, to accentuate the texture.

This quilt has not been washed, but it is possible to do so. If washing is desired, it is recommended to wash gently with cold water, including laundry assists to absorb any possible color bleeding that may occur.
